*Splits
Split is a term used in chickens to describe a colour gene being carried by a bird, but which doesn't display. Split colours include; Chocolate, Lavender, Bobtail, Mottled ect.
To help 'See' Split colours and markings I use a Magnifying Glass to show birds which will carry splits but not Expess the marking shown inside the Magnifying Glass.
In The Case of The Millefleur Hen to the Right, She Displays Millefleur, But is Split Lavender.
