Sex-Linking vs Auto-Sexing

Whats the Difference between Auto-Sexing and Sex-Linked Breeding options?

The Difference is more to do with the offspring than the breeding group, Chicks Produced by Auto-Sexing will grow up, breed and when bred together again will continue to produce Auto-Sexing chicks. Such as breeds like Maran or Legbar's.

However chicks produced in a Sex-linked breeding group once bred together will not produce chicks than could be sexed as hatchings again and my not produce there colour again at all. such as a chocolate hen breeding with a black split chocolate rooster would produce both black and chocolate female chicks, thus not sexable as hatchlings anymore.
Or Mauve and Split Chocolate Blue (sex-linked offspring when using chocolate lad over splash hens) can produce 5 other possible colours. 'black ,blue ,splash ,mauve & chocolate'

*Splits

Split is a term used in chickens to describe a colour gene being carried by a bird, but which doesn't display. Split colours include; Chocolate, Lavender, Bobtail, Mottled ect.

To help 'See' Split colours and markings I use a Magnifying Glass to show birds which will carry splits but not Expess the marking shown inside the Magnifying Glass.

In The Case of The Millefleur Hen to the Right, She Displays Millefleur, But is Split Lavender.

Sex-Linking Using Chocolate

Chocolate Rooster x Black Hen = Black *Split Chocolate Males Chocolate Femalesa

Chocolate Rooster x Cuckoo Hen = Dark Cuckoo *Split Chocolate Males Chocolate Femalesa

Chocolate Rooster x Blue Hen = 50% Blue Split Chocolate Males and 50% Mauve Females

50% Black Split Chocolate Males and 50% Chocolate Females

Chocolate Rooster x Splash Hen = Blue Split Males and Mauve Females

Chocolate Rooster x Black Motted Hen =  Black Split Chocolate & Mottled and Chocolate Split Mottled Females

Chocolate Rooster x Lavender Hen = Black Split Lavender & Chocolate Males and Chocolate Split Lavender Females
